Does the app work offline?
Yes. Every translation in the production app is bundled with the download. Reading, search, notes, highlights, and bookmarks all work without an internet connection.

Common questions
Which translations are included?
The current release includes four editions: King James Version (English), Amharic 1954 (am54), Easy-to-Read Version (English), and New Amharic Standard Version (am01). Licensed editions are included only where distribution rights allow.
Where is my data stored?
On your device only. Living Manna does not use accounts or cloud sync. Notes, highlights, bookmarks, reading history, and preferences are kept in the app's local storage.
How do I move my data to a new phone?
Open Settings on your current device and export a backup file. Transfer that file to your new device (email, cloud storage, or AirDrop), then import it from Settings on the new device.
The home screen widget is not updating
Open the app once so it can refresh today's verse. If the widget still looks stale, remove it from your home screen and add it again. On iOS, the system controls how often widgets refresh, so a short delay is normal.
Reminders are not firing on time
Check that notifications are enabled for Living Manna in your device settings. On Android, allow exact alarms if prompted. After a device restart, open the app once so local reminders can be re-registered.
How do I report a mistake in the text?
Email us with the book, chapter, and verse, along with the translation name. We will check it against the source edition.
Is my reading activity tracked?
No. Living Manna collects no analytics, shows no ads, and sends no reading data to any server. See the privacy policy for full details.
Step-by-step guides
Export a backup
- Open Living Manna and go to Settings.
- Tap Backup and choose Export.
- Save the JSON file through your device's share sheet — Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or email.
Restore a backup
- Install Living Manna on your new device.
- Open Settings and tap Backup, then Import.
- Select the JSON file you exported earlier.
Add the daily verse widget
iOS: Long-press your home screen, tap the add button, search for Living Manna, and choose the Daily Verse widget size you prefer.
Android: Long-press your home screen, select Widgets, find Living Manna, and drag the Daily Verse widget into place.
